Founded in 2018 by Yasmine Azzi-Kohlhepp, AYN GALLERY was born from a strong commitment: to support emerging and established artists from the Maghreb, sub-Saharan Africa, and the diaspora, by building bridges between territories, disciplines, and narratives. The gallery upholds an artistic vision rooted in exchange, memory, and transmission, through a rigorous program and international collaborations.
Drawing on her expertise in curating, production management, and art consulting, Yasmine Azzi-Kohlhepp supports artists throughout every stage of their development.
Beyond exhibitions, she also initiates tailor-made editorial and curatorial projects.
This mission is extended through Éditions du Crieur Public, co-founded in Hamburg in 2010, and specialized in the humanities, the arts, and critical thought. This independent publishing house supports artists by producing monographs, exhibition catalogues, and author-led publications, with a special focus on Southern voices and cross-cultural dialogue between East and West.
“Art only finds its true meaning when it conveys tolerance beyond difference — turning it into a source of richness and complementarity. It acts as a powerful catalyst, redefining our connection to ourselves, to our environment, and to our shared humanity.” Yasmine Azzi-Kohlhepp
The name AYN, meaning both “eye” in Hebrew and Arabic, and “source” in Arabic, reflects this dual vocation: to see, to transmit, to nourish. It embodies a gallery attuned to cultural flows, heritage, and contemporary creation. AYN GALLERY organizes exhibitions both nationally and internationally, and regularly collaborates with other institutions, fairs, and independent art spaces.
